How should we size a perfect binder for variable short runs?
Compare rated speed with changeover time, minimum book thickness, cover feeding, stored-job capacity, and automatic calipering. A slower machine that needs no manual adjustment may produce more sellable books per shift than a faster binder that requires repeated setup.
When does an automated book trimmer replace guillotine trimming?
An automated trimmer makes sense when three guillotine cuts create a labor bottleneck, poor squareness, or book damage. Barcode setup, automatic size detection, and stacked-book cutting are particularly useful for mixed short runs and repeat formats.
Can a perfect binder and three-side trimmer run inline?
Yes, selected binder and trimmer combinations support inline production. Check delivery height, book cooling time, trim range, production speed, and job-data transfer. Near-line operation may work better when one trimmer supports several binders or print lines.
What specifications matter most for book-of-one production?

How much production speed is lost when trimming mixed book sizes?
