FAQs

Which Mimaki ink is correct for my printer?

Match the printer model and installed configuration to the exact ink family, color, container size and part number. Similar Mimaki models may use different chemistries. Print & Finishing Solutions can verify the details before the order ships.

Should I use LH-100 or LUS ink for UV production?

Use LH-100 for rigid work that needs strong scratch and chemical resistance. Choose a supported LUS ink when the printed material will bend, roll, cut or conform after curing. Test adhesion and finishing performance on the actual production substrate.

Can I change a Mimaki printer to another ink family?

An ink change may require flushing, new profiles, approved cleaning liquids, configuration changes and technician service. Never mix ink chemistries or treat the change as a cartridge swap. Check the model, serial number and installed ink set before planning the conversion.

What should I provide when ordering Mimaki ink?

Provide the printer model, installed ink family, required color, container size and Mimaki part number. For white, clear, primer or maintenance liquid, include the machine's full color configuration because these supplies may be configuration-specific.

Does Mimaki maintenance liquid need to match the ink system?

Yes. Cleaning, washing and flushing liquids are assigned to specific ink families and printer models. Using the wrong chemistry can leave deposits or damage ink-path parts. Check the printer documentation, supply label and current safety data sheet before use.

Which Mimaki ink is used for DTF garment transfers?

PHT50 is a water-based heat-transfer pigment ink for compatible Mimaki DTF printers. CMYK comes in 600 ml packs and white in 500 ml packs. Production quality also depends on white-ink circulation, film, powder, curing and transfer settings.

Do white and clear inks require different production controls?

Yes. White ink requires scheduled circulation, agitation or maintenance according to the printer procedure. Clear UV ink adds varnish, texture or spot effects, which changes cure, layering and finishing requirements. Verify that the installed printer configuration supports the selected channel.

This table is optimized to answer which Mimaki ink family fits each production method, substrate behavior and printer configuration.
