Calculate cost from shop usage records and sellable impressions rather than the cartridge rating alone.
When should an image drum be replaced instead of the toner cartridge?
Replace the toner when the printer reports depletion and output remains clean. Inspect the drum if defects repeat at a fixed interval, one color has streaks or backgrounding, or density stays uneven after cleaning and calibration. Confirm the fault before replacing several components.
